Ukrainian gunboats shelled the coast of Donetsk - DPR Command

For the first time in a long period, Ukrainian navy has used gunboats at the coast of the Donetsk People's Republic near Mariupol. Gunboat attack on the southern Donetsk Republic was reported by the DPR Command on Sunday.

"The tense situation is being detected in the Mariupol direction as well. Yesterday (Saturday), the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired at the locality of Kominternovo, and provoked position fights in this area," said the Vice-Commander of the DPR People's Militia, Eduard Basurin.
"Besides, marine units applied military boats (motor-boats) moored in Mariupol, for the first time in a long period," Basurin said.
"So, on March 4, plying along the coastline controlled by the DPR army's units, having stood to the sea for about a kilometre-long distance, Ukrainian military boats opened fire at the DPR Armed Forces' positions with small-bore weapons and large-calibre machine guns", he continued.
"As a result of this gross violation of the ceasefire regime, the DPR military personnel were forced into opening back-fire, and then both boats hastily left towards Mariupol," Basurin said.
