Poroshenko asks US to launch armed intervention in Donbass, as expected

As experts predicted, the Ukrainian party has taken advantage of the OSCE patrol’s car explosion in the LPR with a view to demand an armed mission’s introduction to Donbass, to which the republics had been previously unalterably opposed, saying that they would regard such a step as an intervention and were ready to rebuff it.

Pyotr Poroshenko voiced his demands in a telephone conversation with the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, during which he expressed his condolences over the death of the American – OSCE observer.
"The President of Ukraine proposed to intensify the consideration of an international peacekeeping contingent’s deployment in Donbass under the auspices of the United Nations," reported Poroshenko's press service.
"Petro Poroshenko expressed gratitude for the firm and unswerving position of the US in support of our state on the basis of the principle "nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine."
The parties expressed their concern over the dangerous development of the situation in Donbass and noted the importance of Russia's implementation of the Minsk agreements, primarily security-related elements.
The so-called ‘president’ called for the preservation of a united international front in the policy of sanctions against the Russian Federation until the complete restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Issues of strengthening strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States and bilateral contacts’ schedule, including those at the highest level, were discussed," reports the Ukrainian president’s office.
Ukraine's Finance Minister: Kiev needs US military assistance more than economic

Ukraine is more interested in the US helping with military supplies than in obtaining credit guarantees, said the head of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, Alexander Danilyuk.

On Saturday it was reported, before the OSCE patrol car was exploded, that Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Military-Political Affairs Tina Kaidanow will arrive in Ukraine to discuss military cooperation with Kiev and international security issues.
