University of Soros closed in Hungary

President of Hungary Janos Ader signed an amendment to the law on higher education, allowing to close a private Central European University, founded by American billionaire George Soros. The text of the decree is published on the presidential website.
"I found out that this amendment does not affect the freedoms set out in Article X of the Constitution, the freedom of studying and teaching. The new law imposes conditions for the activities of foreign higher educational institutions in Hungary. It does not violate the constitutional norm on international treaties and does not conflict with the EU directive," explains Janos Ader.
